My name is Michael Lethem, I am 23 years old and have a BA in Political Science from Beloit College.  I was born in a small town called Oregon in the state of Wisconsin.  I am currently living in the Maadi district of Cairo, Egypt.  I am an editor, researcher and English communications officer for the Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies, an Egyptian NGO which has been promoting civil society and democratization in Egypt and the Arab world for 30 years.  Additionally, the Ibn Khaldun Center has 15 years of election monitoring experience and is currently coordinating the largest election monitoring effort in Egypt.  My role in this is to translate the reports as they come in from the field and get them out in English as quickly as possible.  I love my work now but intend to pursue a career in teaching English as a foreign language in the near future.
